<image:title>About - Heartspace Artspace & Counselling</image:title>
<image:caption>Heartspace Artspace & Counselling is a creative arts therapy and counselling practice based on the Sunshine Coast. Individual and Groups sessions are offered by appointment. Heartspace Artspace explores another way of knowing through creative expression drawing upon the wisdom of the body. Within a quiet safe, respectful space individuals or within small groups can use paints, pastels, clay, collage, and textiles to express and experience their personal journey providing another way of knowing self and soul. Using processes and techniques drawn from Creative Arts Therapies, and Sensorimotor psychotherapies our inner lives are given the opportunity to be known in its own language. While this at times can be challenging it is also playful, fun and at times surprising. The term Heartspace came from one participant as an expression of their experience of the artspace. Heartspace Artspace offers Individual Therapy Sessions, Workshops for Well-being; Supervision for Therapists, and Professional Development programs for human service professionals.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Sensorimotor creative arts therapy (SCART) centralises the wisdom of the body. Grounded in approaches from somatic psychotherapy and integrating the mediums of paint, pastels, clay, textiles, collage, guided imagery, and movement allowing access to, expression of, and the potential for healing, bringing a deeper sense of self. Guided drawing and Clay Field Therapy are two SCART approaches that are available.</image:caption>

<image:title>Creative Arts Therapy - Clay Field Therapy</image:title>
<image:caption>Clay Field therapy can be beneficial in therapy for recovery from, childhood experiences of abuse, and trauma as well as states relating to anxiety, depression and stress. Increasingly working with the wisdom of the body or the bottom-up approach is considered the “gold standard”* in resolving trauma. Clay Field Therapy is an intricate interaction between human neurobiology, haptic perception, and expressions of lived experiences. German art therapist Professor Heinz Deuser developed this approach over the past 50 years. Please note: It is unusual to have a clay field session as the first session of therapy. Clay Field sessions are offered in response to the unique need of each individual. Clay Field Therapy sessions are offered after initial consultations and conversations with Liz or Jean.</image:caption>
