Term One 2012 at Heartspace Artspace (HAGS)

Hello  All

   I am looking forward to seeing you all again.  There is only a few spaces left for this term.  Please let me know if you are wanting to come.  We will be continuing with our theme The 12 Gifts of Birth.  I am really excited that we are doing this and am looking forward to the culmination of our Gallery of Creative Expression which will be shared with our invited guest of family and friends. This is a great night of celebration and honouring our own unique creative expresions of

strength, beauty, hope, compassion, joy,love, reverence, wisdom, talent, courage, faith and imagination. 

Importantly if you have participated in the 12 gifts of birth at any stage you are invited to participate in the Gallery of Creative Expression....all of your wonderful canvases are so beautiful and I would love to have them in the Gallery for this special night.  The date has yet to be set.  It will be after the Easter holidays and possible towards the end of Term 2.  AND this also means that there is plenty of time for those of you who have not been able to come yet and to participate and to be part of the Gallery of Creative Expression  (GoCE).....

As always NO ARTISTIC experience is needed.  So many people come and say to me that they are not creative and yet when they come along and participate on Thursday evenings.....they produce some absolutely divine and precious expressions.....should I mention a few names here.....well perhaps not....

So we begin THURSDAY 2nd FEBRUARY....@ 6.30pm to 8.30pm at 9 Hubert Street Woolloongabba.....

The International Sketchbook Project 2012 workshop

NO ART EXPERIENCE, ARTISTICT TALENTS OR CREATIVE URGES NEEDED

The INTERNATIONAL Sketchbook project is like a concert tour only with sketchbooks. Thousands of sketchbooks created by ‘artists’ from across the globe will go on tour and be exhibited in galleries and museums for others to come and share in the creative expressions of other human beings. The theme chosen for Heartspace Artspace for 2012 is ‘COMPANIONING.

Creative ideas and guidance will be available if you require.

Heartspace Artspace & Counselling Open Day

Friday 14th October was the Australian Red Cross Big Cake Bake day and Heartspace Artspace & Counselling joined in the challenge with a combined Cake Bake and Open Day.  Professional service providers from the Brisbane South area were invited to come and "eat cake" that Liz had made and to meet Liz and have a look at the new venue for Heartspace Artspace.

 Thanks to everyone who attended and for the donations to Red Cross.  Red Cross is such a valued international organisation and is a worthy recipient of our donations.

"Work at the Clayfield" display.

Lots of folk were curious about the Clayfield.  A DVD demonstrating the "Work at the Clayfield" as well as a delicious field full of soft smooth clay was for one or two irresistible to touch. It was lovely to meet the folk in the building where Heartspace Artspace is housed and to have others drop in for chat and a coffee.  Sadly the opportunity for cake has passed and I am So sorry if Friday 14th October was not a good day for you to be able to come.  Feel free to contact Liz if you would like to drop in and have a look at Heartspace Artspace Studio room or find out more about what is on offer at Heartspace Artspace & Counselling.

A new Name for the Thursday Night Group

 As I have relfected on what actually happens when we gather together on a Thursday evening the words that come to mind are creativity, connection and connecting, communication, nourishment, enrichment, essence and spirit and sharing.  So with this in mind the Thursday night heartspace artspace group will be known as Heart Art Gathering Space.  (HAGS).  There is a wonderful old story from medieval times attached to the name of Hag.  I would like to share that with you but it is rather long so I will wait until we are together face to face.  However the point of the story is that what women want is the seen in their true essence ( innocence) and to have the respect, value, equality and power over their own life (sovereignity).  And that when women are validated in this way then the perceived haggishness magically turns out to be great sensual beauty and in this state then women are free to be who they are truely meant to be.  So I am rather chuffed at the acronym HAGS and I hope that you will be too.  If this is too much then think of it as Heart Art Gathering Space....for certainly it is that....each one who participates here imbue the time and the space with warmth, compassion, uniqueness and creativity.  It is a place that we gather together for Heart Art.

Heartspace Artspace & Counselling NEW HOME

Heartspace Artspace has a new home.....from July 11th you will find us at suite 3 /9 Hubert Street Woolloongabba.   If you are coming by car, in the day times there is ample street parking on Hubert Street, and if you are coming after business hours you will most likely find car parks available outside the suite at 9 Hubert Street.


The Woolloongabba bus stop is just across the road of the Stanley street end of Hubert street and is an easy walk to Heartspace Artspace.  When the fit out is complete I will post picture of the new look Heartspace Artspace for you to view.
