Founder, Co- Director & Creative Arts Therapist

Liz holds a degree in psychology, Ma Counselling, Certificate in sensorimotor Art Therapy Drawing upon her studies in psychology, counselling as well as MIECAT and Initiatic Art Therapy and Somatic Experiencing, Liz firmly believes that creative expression is healing for the body, spirit, and soul. She is a registered Creative Arts Therapist and Registered Counsellor. Liz has worked with survivors of childhood abuse, and complex trauma as well as women's creative expression for wellness. She has worked as a clinical supervisor with MA Counselling ; Arts Therapy and Bachelor of Counselling students at Uni SC and UQ. She has taught Sensorimotor Creative Arts Therapy across Australia and has been a guest lecturer in the UK. Liz holds professional membership with ANZACATA and ACA.

Jean Bennett PhD.

Co-Director and Creative Arts Therapist

Jean holds a Ph. D in Health and Social Care: Arts Psychotherapy; MA Creative Arts Psychotherapy, BA (Hons) in Creative Arts Therapy, BA (Hons) Fine Art and Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Graduate Diploma in Textiles. She is an exhibiting artist and registered Arts Therapist. For the past 15 years, Jean has been a senior lecturer in Arts Therapy at Derby University in the United Kingdom. Jean's work has worked with drug and alcohol services, rape crisis, and sexual abuse services as well as within education environments in preventative therapeutic support. Jean joined Heartspace Artspace as co-Director and therapist in 2021. Jean is offering clinical Supervision.

Leanne McCosh Ba Counselling, Yoga & Mindfulness Practitioner.

Professional Counselling Practitioner

Leanne holds a BA in Counselling and Certificates in Yoga and Mindfulness practice. Lee is a compassionate integrative counsellor who has worked successfully with women and adolescent girls. Leanne also has worked with early stages of AOD and gambling. Leanne has a passion for experiential modalities using symbols, art, systemic family constellations, mindfulness, and breath work as well as equine and animal-based therapies which all engage the embodiment of self and may include our relationship with extended family. Leanne believes that our lived experiences are formed from our relationship with self and others. These unique ways of being or patterns can unveil the path through our current problems. Leanne works from a strenghts based approach encouraging you to be empowered in moving towards your joy and best life. Leanne holds professional membership with ACA. Leanne joins Heartspace Artspace & Counselling in 2023.

Leanne is available Mondays by appointment at our Maleny office.

Fees are $120.00 per session
